Maria M. Cruz's Obituary
Maria “Martha” Cruz, 72, of Goodyear, AZ passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Martha was born Maria Martina Juarez Ayala in Mazatlán, Sinaloa on November 11, 1943. She was the third of four children to Agustin Juarez and Ramona Ayala. Her life dream was to settle in the United States. She achieved that dream in 1966. She met the “love of her life” Enrique N. Lopez in 1968 and dedicated her life to raising her 3 children. Martha then set a goal for herself; she was determined to become a Naturalized United States Citizen, she passed the exam on her first attempt in 1990.Martha remarried in 1991 and became Mrs. Cruz. Sadly, after 9 years of marriage, Martha widowed when Mr. Cruz lost his battle to cancer. Through the years, she worked as a Nanny and worked at Pechanga Casino. She retired in 2003 and settled in Arizona. She fulfilled her desire to travel- she visited many States across America, explored Europe and numerous indigenous regions of her native Mexico.Martha is preceded in death by her second son, Enrique E. Lopez, and is survived by her two remaining children: Ricardo Pol and Yvonne McLemore; her nine grandchildren: Jacob, Enrique, Richard, Daniel, Luis, Claudette, Anahi, Henry, and Holly. She is survived by two sisters: Guadalupe and Elvia.Martha will finally be inurned with her son which has been her wish for over 25 years. “Now it’s your turn beloved Brother, to take care of Mom.”Her viewing and inurnment will take place on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, 10:00 am at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary, Sally Lynn Chapel, San Diego, CA.
