With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Maria Irma Ferrer Almogela, who was born on January 14, 1931, and peacefully departed on February 14, 2026.
She lived a rich and meaningful life centered on love, resilience, and devotion to family. A devoted mother, she raised ten children on her own with strength, grace, and unwavering determination. She also opened her heart fully to six stepchildren, loving them as her own. Her family grew to include many grandchildren and extended loved ones who were blessed by her warmth, wisdom, and generous spirit.
She was the heart of every gathering, a joyful presence who loved to sing and dance, filling rooms with laughter and life. She had a deep love for poetry and storytelling, captivating listeners with her vivid imagination and expressive voice. One of her most cherished pieces was Walt Whitman’s “O Captain! My Captain!”, a poem that reflected her depth, strength, and appreciation for the beauty of words.
Her strength, kindness, and devotion shaped generations. She taught her children the value of perseverance, compassion, and believing in themselves, lessons that will live on through all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by eight children and four stepchildren, along with her many grandchildren and loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy.
