Maria L. Parker's Obituary
Maria Leticia Parker, 85, a longtime resident of National City, passed away on November 13, 2017. Maria was born in Nacozari, Sonora Mexico on June 21, 1932. She graduated from college with a Pharmacist Degree from the University of Sonora, but spent her career as a Community Liaison for the National School District until she retired. While she enjoyed her work, her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren and caring for her patio full of plants, especially the epiphyllum’s. Maria was dearly loved by her family and friends and she will be greatly missed. Maria is survived by her daughter, Ruth and her husband Kirby Beyer; her son Jim; son, David and his wife Laurie; her brother Hector Noriega; her sisters, Silvia Shaffer and Edna Aguirre; her grandchildren, Melissa, Megan, Carla, Jason, Dylan, Annette & Jessica; and her great-grandchildren, Vivien, Natalee, Ava, Jade, Cash, Vince, Finnley, Rendin & Preya. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick of 48 years, her parents Gilberto & Elvira Noriega, and her brothers Jose and Gilberto. Services will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary, at the Salli Lynn Chapel (San Diego) on Thursday November 30th at 10:00 am.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Kaiser Hospice, 10992 San Diego Mission Road San Diego, CA 92018.
