Marian L. Zarnow's Obituary
Marian Zarnow was born in Nash, North Dakota on August 28, 1926. She was a band majorette at Grand Forks Central High and picked potatoes to earn money. She built B-52 bombers in Seattle during WWII. In 1943, she was a waitress at the University of Minnesota and met Jack, her devoted husband of 70 years. He was a Navy athletic instructor who courted her on the dance floor. They settled in San Diego in 1952 with their son, Gary. Over the years Marian worked in various retail positions, ending her career as a Fedco manager. She spent leisure time playing contract bridge, crocheting, baking, and enjoying 3 grandchildren: Leandra, Suzanne, and Marek.She passed away peacefully on June 21, 2015, surrounded by her husband, son, and daughter-in-law.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to California Scottish Rite Foundation or Salk Institute.
