Maritza Preciado's Obituary
Maritza Preciado was born on August 23, 1946 in Colon, Panama to parent Carmen Rosa Ortega. She entered into rest on February 22, 2020 in San Diego, California. A local resident for close to 30 years, Maritza was respected and loved by many. She married her love, Richard Albert Preciado and shared 53 years of marriage with him. They met when Richard was stationed in Panama while serving in the United States Army, as a Green Beret and together raised a family of 3 children; Richard Preciado, Noemi Preciado and Marcus Preciado. Maritza was also honored to share her life with 7 grandkids; Rebecca, Ricky, Sophia, Diego, Macey, Kayla and Marco; two daughters in law, Letty and Tracie; Sister, Maricela Rajo; Niece, Carmen Gonzalez: Nephew, Elias Pimienta; Nieces Children, Santiago, Emilio, Luke and Blake and God daughters; Josefina Ruiz and Yazmin Rodriguez.
Maritza was proud to be an Army wife for over 25 years and enjoyed its many adventures. Whether living in Fort Bragg, North Carolina or the Panama Canal Zone, she devoted herself to her children and husband. She took pride in being a homemaker, great cook, and loving mother to her kids and committed to raise them in a home full of love, fun and respect. Maritza was known for her quick wit, generosity, funny stories and ability to bond and form lasting relationships with others. As a reflection of her caring heart, she housed 20 different people throughout the years to live in her home.
What stood out most for Maritza was her passion and love for God. Working alongside her husband Richard, she served as an ordained minister and Pastor for over 25 years and helped establish two churches: Capilla Cristo Redentor in Spring Lake, North Carolina and Roca de Salvation in National City, California. She loved teaching the Word of God, singing hymns, and sharing God’s love with others, especially women.
Maritza will forever be missed yet never forgotten. She touched many lives and impacted them in numerous ways with encouragement, sound advice and generosity. Despite her prolonged battle with Churg-Strauss syndrome causing blood vessel inflammation, she remained positive, upbeat and always expressed thanks for the many blessings God bestowed on her. She was truly an inspiration to her family and many others because of her strong faith and love for God.
She is now in Heaven with the Lord!
