Marjorie Caroline Young's Obituary
Marjorie Caroline (nee Schmitt) (Dangel) Young, 91, of San Diego, California, passed away on April 26, 2019.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 4th at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park Mortuary, Garden Chapel.Marjorie was born in Yuma, Arizona, to George and Laura Schmitt in November, 1927. She graduated from Yuma Union High School in 1945 and later obtained her license in cosmetology. Marjorie worked at El Patio Beauty Shop in La Mesa, California, until she married Victor R. Dangel in September, 1949. Together they had four children, Laura, Daniel, Linda, and Dayton. After being widowed, Marjorie met Robert Young and the two were married in July, 1988.Marjorie was a devoted daughter, loving wife, and wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and served Him at many Lutheran Churches during her lifetime. Marjorie’s life was filled with many hobbies. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, sewing, clowning, cooking, and traveling. She also spent many years volunteering at Sharp Memorial Hospital Outpatient Pavilion. Her greatest joy was gathering friends and family together for dinners and picnics. Marjorie’s life’s motto was, “Life is uncertain, eat dessert first”.Marjorie is preceded in death by her brother George Dayton Schmitt, husbands Victor Dangel and Robert Young, daughters Laura (Dangel) Junker and Linda (Dangel) Black, step-son Michael Young, and step-daughter Kathleen Young.Marjorie is survived by sons Daniel Dangel (Cathy) and Dayton Dangel (Maria), son-in-law Joel Junker, step-son Robert Young, step-daughter-in-law Sheila Young, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
