Martha Ann Gaul's Obituary
Martha Ann Gaul, 86, of La Mesa, California died at 4:24 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017. She was born on June 30, 1931, in McAllen, TX the daughter of Cecil & Ruby Beerman, both of whom have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her step mother, Mabel Beerman and her brother, Kenneth Beerman.She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Carrie & Randy Thibodeaux (Spring, TX); by her sons and & daughters-in-law, Vince & Judy Gaul (Dickinson, TX), Warren & Teresa Gaul (Isabella, MO) & Wayne Gaul (Houston, TX); by 10 grandchildren; by 5 great-grandchildren; as well as two nieces and one nephew.Martha grew up in McAllen, TX and graduated from McAllen High School. She received her degree in Physical Therapy from University of Texas School of Physical Therapy. She was passionate about helping her patients regain strength and function over the 31 years she worked as a therapist before retiring in 1999. In her retirement, Martha continued to use her Physical Therapy gift to minister to others on medical mission trips to Belize, Peru & Mexico. Though Martha made her home in many places through her 86 years, in each place she found a church home where she was very actively involved. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in El Cajon and volunteered extensively & served as a board member for Forest Home Christian Camps.Aside from her deep love for her family & her country, Martha was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling and playing cards & dominoes with her friends. Anyone who knew her would attest to the fact that she lived a life of passion for whatever she put her hand to do, be it Physical Therapy or Mexican Train Dominoes!A funeral service, with a reception following, will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday September 23rd at Gateway Baptist Church, 1280 N Johnson Ave #102, El Cajon, CA with Pastor Doug Bray officiating the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Forest Home or Voice of the Martyrs..
