Mary Ellen German's Obituary
Mary Ellen German was born on May 1, 1924, in Long Beach, California, to parents
Robert Nielsen and Willa Eugene Hickok. She passed away in La Mesa, California, on
September 26, 2022. A lifelong resident of San Diego County, Mary Ellen was a
respected and loving Wife, Daughter, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother
and friend. She graduated from San Diego High School in 1943. Mary Ellen met her
future husband, Glenn, on her Aunt’s front porch when he picked her up for a blind date.
Glenn and Mary Ellen were married on October 22, 1943. They had two children: Janis
and John. She worked along with Glenn in the missionary organization known as
“Technical Assistance Program (TAP)”. She had a special love and bond with her
children, grand children and great grand children. She always brought the family
together with love. Mary Ellen was a loving, caring, thoughtful woman who was adored
by many. She will rest in the Peace of God forever
