Celebrating the life of Mary Esther Sepulveda
Mary was born in a little house on Zenith St in Otay, which later became part of Chula Vista, on September 26, 1939. Her parents were Ramon C Castro and Beatriz de la Cruz Castro. She grew up in the streets of Otay and went to John J Montgomery elementary and Chula Vista Jr and High school. After high school she worked as a retail clerk at Walker Scott downtown San Diego. In 1960 she married a handsome young man who crooned his way into Mary’s life by the name of Isidro Sepulveda, they were married for 60 years in 2020. Mary was a ministers wife for 25 years and then became a pastors wife when her husband became pastor of the Otay apostolic church until he retired. She volunteered many hour at the church teaching Sunday school and helping with the women’s axillary. She enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting and scrapbooking. She loved her trip to Costa Rica and Italy. She was courageous, strong, beautiful giving and funny. She will be missed greatly by her husband, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Isidro, children Sonia Villa, Sophia Lopez, Isidro Sepulveda Jr. Martha Steger, Mark Sepulveda, Laura Arias, and 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
