Found this page five years to the day since she passed. I guess it says something about fate and her legacy that people still think of her so fondly. She was an inspirational person. Talk about being able to fashion a silk purse from a sow's ear! And what a devoted daughter she was. I miss my mentor.
In the simplest expression of every day life, I miss Mary. Completely, profoundly, beyond belief. ??
Mary is alive and well in my mind. She infused me with her infectious spirit, and so lives on!! Every time I offer encouragement, I remember how she was my BEST CHEERLEADER EVER!! Any time I am presented with an opportunity to cheer someone up, I can draw from hundreds of uplifting quotes that I learned from her. ALL of the time, I strive to share the Goodness that she instilled in me. And for all time, I hope to carry on good works in her honor.
Mary Van Meer was MUCH more than what is in print here. Mary was an Angel on Earth. She enriched the lives of everyone who met her. She was the most inspirational person I have ever know. The fifteen years that I shared with her were the apex of my life and I am grateful for the memories!

I'm very sorry to hear of Mary's passing. I knew her all through grade school and high school in Alma.
Mary was an old childhood friend, grew up in the same neighborhood and lots of playing together. We lost track of each other until the advent of facebook and then she would sometimes respond to something I wrote. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing.
Mary was such a caring and enthusiastic person. I will miss her.
