Matilda Wallace's Obituary
Matilda Marie Wallace (Mitzi), a resident of San Diego, California for over 69 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25th, 2024. Matilda was born in Lawrence Massachusetts, the daughter of Louis and Josephine Messina.
Matilda married Mark Wallace, her high school sweetheart, on June 4th, 1950. Mark and Mitzi enjoyed 71 years of marriage. They shared a life full of family, friendships, travel, and good times.
Matilda enjoyed spending time with her friends playing cards and going to Red Hat Luncheons. Mitzi also enjoyed shopping expeditions with her grandchildren.
Matilda was a loving, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
Matilda is survived by her four children, Karen (Jeff), Gayle (Mike), Denise and Mark (Brenda), 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband Mark, granddaughter Julie, her sisters Sally (Al), Dorothy (George), and brother Joe (Rose).
