Hi mom, it's me again, today is another day that I could really use your strength, my brother is in surgery and I'm worried about him, they say it's minor but anytime they have to operate it's not minor. I miss you more with each passing day, trying to be strong for my brother but having moments of weakness, so I'm reaching out to you for the strength that you always gave me. I've always tried to help and protect my brother, but this time things are way beyond my control. Aunt Mattie, So much lost time yet so many fond memories…I know that you are in a better place and I pray for our family during this time of need. I can truly say that you were just what I needed growing up and through adulthood mentoring me and being one of my biggest supports during my collegiate success; always helping me take 1 more step in life. As I sit here thinking of you and your wonderful smile. I know you are smiling down on all our family and holding us close. You were the glue that kept the California and Arkansas families together. We have shared so many great times together. My best memories are with you at your home from my early days to adulthood.
