Mrs. Ruth Maxine Poore's Obituary
Ruth Maxine Poore passed away peacefully on Saturday night, May 23, 2015, surrounded by family. She was born in Terlton, Oklahoma on August 19, 1922 to Earl and Florence Greenwood. Maxine was the third of four children, with brothers Virgil and Roy, and sister Leona.She married the love of her life, Glen Poore on July 6, 1940, and they lived in the many different places around the country where he was stationed in the US Navy. They were happily married for 63 years before his passing.Maxine and Glen had three children: Janet Kimes (Mike), Don Poore (Sheryl), and Debbie Weiner (Jerry).Maxine was blessed with 12 grandchildren: Vonda Jensen, Matthew Kimes, Tim Poore, Andrew Poore, Jeannie Lee, Jessie David, Kelly Davis, Cainen Poore, Adam Weiner, Shannon Klaus, Katherine Weiner, and Eric Weiner. She has 26 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.She loved spending time with her family and friends, cooking, baking, playing tile rummy and games of all kinds, sewing, walking, and attending church. Maxine and Glen loved to travel, enjoying trips to Europe, Asia, and Hawaii with good friends. She was always available for her children and grandchildren, attending their activities as often as possible.Maxine will be remembered for her strength, her courage, her kindness and her generosity. Her friends, family, and all who knew her will miss her greatly. Graveside services will be held at El Camino Memorial Park on Saturday, June 6th at 10 am.
