May Yook Quon's Obituary
May Yook Quon, 79, passed away on February 19, 2017. Born in Canton, China on November 26, 1937, May moved to the United States in 1951 with her mother and two younger brothers. They joined her father and another brother, already residing in Los Angeles, California. Later a sister would be born into the family. Once in the States, May attended junior high and high school and then studied accounting in junior college. She married Winston in 1958 and joined him in San Diego, California. They soon started a family and May would devote her life to caring for and raising her growing family of five children.May was a loving wife of the late Winston for 41, almost 42, years and was a devoted mother to sons Lindsay and Lyndon and daughters Linda, Laura (Bill Boice), and Leona (Renne Cuenca). She was a cherished sister of surviving brothers Harry (Donna), William (May), Jack (Dale), and sister Judy (Larry), as well as an honored aunt to many nephews and nieces.She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, traveling and going to Padres baseball games. Her quiet and sweet nature endeared her to everyone. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made towards lung cancer research to: The Regents of the University of California.
