Melissa Jean Mowrey's Obituary
Melissa J. (Hawthorne) Mowrey passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in her home in Lakeside, California. She was born in Miami Beach, Florida on April 26, 1943 to John and Jean (Crawford) Hawthorne. She grew up in Miami until she moved to San Diego, California in 1954 with her parents and her two brothers, John and Mike. She graduated from San Dieguito High School in 1961. She attended Palomar College and obtained her AA degree in 1963. She worked in the Finance and loan industry for 20 years. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her son Joe Rodriguez and his wife Lori; their children Joey and Rashele; her brother John C. Hawthorne and his wife Bobbie and many other loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her brother Mike B. Hawthorne.For those who had the privilege to know Melissa, she was a lovely, soft spoken woman with a great deal of love and compassion. There are very few people in this world who are as kind and caring a person as Melissa has been to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
