How does one highlight Melvin’s life where his mission was always having something to say about everything; through a quote or a joke and guaranteed to make you think, smile or laugh.Melvin McMichael Sr. (Mac as he was known to friends and family members) was born March 14, 1937, to Clyde and Ossie Mae McMichael of McDonough, Georgia. An only child, he joined the United States Navy at an early age, to proudly serve his country and experience what the world had to offer.Mac was an outgoing, empathic and positive. He was able to start a conversation with anyone, whether he knew them or not, and lift their spirits.During his travels, he landed in Virginia, where he later married Joyce Mae. During their 51 years of marriage together, they traveled overseas and raised two children, Sharon and Melvin Jr. He spent 46 years in the service of the United States Government.Mac was very proud of his daughter-in-law, Tanya, and his five grandchildren; Brandon, Shantisha, Nathaniel, Alexander and Briana.Mac never missed a birthday, any memorable family activities or events.
