Meriem Ilene Goad's Obituary
Meriem Ilene Leeds Goad passed away on November 17, 2022, at her home in Bonita, California. She was 101 years old. Meriem was born on October 2, 1921, in Loveland, Colorado to Yearl S. (Art) Leeds and Martha (Ada) Tillinghast Goad. Her family later moved to Arthur, Nebraska, where she graduated from Arthur High School in 1939. She married Floyd Dwight Goad on September 9, 1939, in Nebraska. They moved to San Diego County in 1941, residing in Encinitas before moving the National City. They lived in National City until 1970 subsequently moving to Bonita where she resided at the time of her death.
Meriem was involved in many activities over the years such as PTA, Cub Scout den mother, Pythian Sisters, Big Dippers Square Dancing Club, and many more. She was employed at Bank of America as a Customer Service Representative. She retired in 1980. She and her family loved traveling and exploring together. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Dwight Goad, and her son, Bruce Dwight Goad. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Ilene Goad, her grandson Scott Dwight Goad (Heather), granddaughters, Jennifer Faling (Jason), and Shawna Shouse (Keith), nine great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be On December 14, 2022 at the Salli Lynn Chapel in Greenwood Memorial Park, 4300 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, CA 92113. Visitation will be 9 A.M. - 11A.M. followed by a service at 11A.M. If you would like to send flowers please do so the day before the service.
