Myla Jean Heyenga's Obituary
Myla Jean HeyengaApril 11, 1927 to July 19, 2019 After a long sad battle with dementia, Myla Heyenga has passed away. She was born in Sibley, Iowa and grew up in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1945. At that time she was also working at the Navy Exchange in Klamath Falls where she met Bob Heyenga, they married in July of 1945.She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Vera Petrick, her husband Bob in 1990, her son Bob in 2011, and her daughter Jeanne in 2019. She is survived by her son Jon, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the last of her generation on both sides of the family.Like so many others, the Navy brought her to San Diego and she never left. She was one of the few remaining original home owners in Mission Village, a place that she called home since 1958.The family would also like to thank all of the people at The Montera, A Timeless Treasures and Sojourn Hospice for all of their wonderful help.In lieu of flowers, spend some time with an elderly family member, neighbor or friend. You’ll be better off for doing it, and so will they.
