Nicolas Zavala Solorzano's Obituary
Nicolas Zavala Solorzano (Nico) was born on August 31st 1946 to his parents Nicolas Solorzano and Mary Zavala, in the state of Michoacan, Mexico. Nicolas arrived in Ojai, California at the age of 25. His first job was as lead foreman on a ranch in Ojai. Nicolas was a hard and dedicated worker and was self-taught in several trades. He met Mary Ellen Perez in Ojai and fell in love at first sight. They were married in 1972 and raised nine children together. In 1984, Nico moved his family to San Diego and quickly found work as a mechanic in the food industry. In 2008, Nico retired from his job. He always provide for his family very well and liked working around his house and caring for the garden he and Mary created. Shortly thereafter, Nico’s beloved Mary passed on to be with the Lord, Nico was never the same. Nico sadly passed away on January 6th 2017 to be with his wife. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and all that had the honor of knowing him. He is survived by his nine children and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. He also left behind siblings in Seattle,WA and Mexico.
