Noemi Loces Najera
January 5, 1936 - September 20, 2022
Noemi Najera, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 20, 2022.
She was born in Coahuila Mexico to Leonor Dominguez Loces and Andres Loces. She lived most of her adult life in Calexico, where she raised her family and made lifelong friends.
Noemi is preceded in death by her loving husband Hector N. Najera. She is survived by her six children: Hector Jr. (Myrna), Sandra Najera Diaz (Javier), Ruben (Raquel), Martha Najera-De Lira (Tony), Elda Najera (Larry), Teresa Najera Calero and stepson Paul Najera. As well as her 4 siblings; Nora Cortez, Gloria Gutierrez, Leonor Loces, and Norberto Loces. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Noemi was a loving mother and a devoted Catholic, who believed in giving to those in need. She donated her time to the Calexico Orthopedic Clinic and donated constantly to the St. Jude Foundation. She enjoyed spending time with siblings and hosting family gatherings. She loved cooking, working with her hands, and gardening which was evident in her flower garden. She never turned down a quick trip to a casino with family and made sure to share the winnings.
Noemi was a successful business woman, who took pride in her talent of interior decorating and fashion, which lead to the success of her businesses Casa Bella Interiors and Mimi’s Boutique.
Noemi had numerous friends. She was a well-loved and respected member of the Calexico Lioness Club, where she served as president in the 80’s. Noemi was instrumental in the building of the obstacle course on highway 98 in Calexico for the local youth.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, in Calexico on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, with rosary at 10:00 a.m. and mass at 10:30 a.m.
Noemi was a loving giving woman who will be missed by all.
