On the holidays there was no doubt that she would always be accompanied by her keyboard, standing as lead vocalist alongside her co-musician on the guitar, Strit. Her voice in song was matchless. She was funny, always wanting to laugh and find humor in life. She was a comedian in her own right, even if that meant it was making her own self laugh. She would say phrases like “Hey Chickadee”, “Arigato”, that’s Japanese for “Thank you” and purposefully mispronounce words like, “compruta” for computer. She enjoyed listening to musicians like The Temptations, Curtis Mayfield, Carla Thomas of which her favorite song was “Gee Whiz” and “Teenage Sonata” by Sam Cooke. Her most favorite musician of all time was Prince. Even in her illness, Tuckie never complained. She pushed through during hardship. She was very strong willed and resilient. To her siblings and friends, she will be Tuckie; Auntie to her nephews and “Chickadee” to her nieces. To her grandchildren she will be known a Grandma Tuckie.
