Ofelia Cardenas Mireles was born in 1930 to parents: Eloisa Rios Cardenas and Ysidoro Cardenas.
That beautiful morning, beckoned by angels, mom passed peacefully without illness at home on October 8, 2022, age 92, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in El Paso, TX, she moved with her family to Los Angeles as a young girl, then lived since her teenage years in San Diego where she raised her family of 8 children along with her late husband, Charles Mireles, who passed in November, 2021. They were married 70 years.
She was widely loved by friends, family, and neighbors for her kind and gentle ways. The world is less, having lost a beautiful person, our mom.
She will be missed by 7 surviving children: Toni Martin, Thomas Mireles, Tressie Richardson, Timothy Mireles, Tina Patterson, Ted Mireles and Tricia Barnes. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Charles (Tiny) Mireles, Jr., who passed 6 months prior in April 2022. She will also be missed by 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, many of whom she helped raise.
Preceded in death by her mother, Eloisa Rios Cardenas; father, Ysidoro Cardenas; two brothers, Ysidoro Cardenas and David Cardenas; sisters, Guadalupe Colmenero and Elisa Marquez.
