On Thammarath's Obituary
On Thammarath was born on April 15, 1935 in Muang Yon, Sipsonpanna. She was the oldest child and took care of younger brothers after her parents passed away and until she got married and moved to Ban Xon, Sipsonpanna where she welcomed her first son, Mai Oun Xon. She then moved to Muang Sing, Laos and had her three younger children, Khankham, Khamoeuy, and Khamlue. Her husband passed away during the war in 1971 and she remarried Noh Thammarath in 1974. On and Noh lived in the refugee camps in Thailand for 5 years where Oun and Khamoeuy were married and welcomed On’s first grandchildren, Nopadoun and Malisa. On, Noh, Khankham, and Khamleu were sponsored by the Thammavong family and were resettled to San Diego while Oun and his family were sponsored to St. Cloud, MN before moving to San Diego, CA and Khamouey and her family were sponsored and resettled to Denver, CO. On lived a full life in San Diego where she enjoyed cooking delicious food, sewing, gardening, and driving other seniors in the community to the temple or the grocery store. She also played a key role in raising her grandchildren who lived two blocks away and visited often from Denver, CO and Seattle, WA. She is survived by her husband Noh; her 2 sons Oun and Khamleu; her 2 daughters Khamouey and Khankham; her 8 grandchildren Nopadoun, Malisa, James, Sanica, Monica, Tiffany, Justin, and Brendan; and her 6 great grandchildren Reagan, Skyler, Lincoln, Alani, Aria, and Yuriko.
