Oscar Augustine Smith's Obituary
Oscar Augustine Smith was born December 22,1966 in Brooklyn, New York. To immigrate parents Augustine and Icilda Smith from Honduras, Central America. His parents moved to the North Park area of San Diego in 1971 with Oscar and his two sisters, Leslie and Licette. Oscar also has four additional brothers and sister, Anna, Erica, Lionel and Henry as well as a step mother, Belinda. Oscar attend Darrell Elementary, Crawford and Madison High Schools. Oscar met Pamela when he was 16 and married her a few years later. Together they have five children, Oscar Jr., Brittney, Orlando, Orlonzo, and Brianna. Oscar also had a son, Tramoun Williams. He also has several nephews and nieces from his siblings. Oscar worked very hard as a licensed welder and security guard in order to support his family. As a teenager he spend the summers in Brooklyn New York where he was able to reunited with his beloved grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins. He would reminisce on how these visits left strong positive impressions on his memory. Oscar was blessed with seven beautiful grandsons and granddaughters, as well as several grand nephew and nieces. Oscar loved family gathering where he typical stood out as the life of the party. Beside loving his family, part of his daily routine include daily walks at Chollas Lake, Lake Murray Park and Pacific Beach. He would walk there with either his wife, father, children or grandchildren. He loved the calmness of the water as well as engaging with strangers who soon became his friends. He was so well know in the beach area, that people thought he owned property on the beach. His work was another place that gave Oscar purpose, he was a solution provide whether you need one or not. Oscar was a strong advocate for justice and inserted his recommendations where needed to make things right, especially for the underdog. He secretly and openly believed that he was a superhero. Oscar was our superhero and always will be. He is greatly loved by his family, friends, and community. May he rest in peace.
