Pamela Dorothy Davis' Obituary
Pamela (Adikinyi) Dorothy Davis was born to Rachael Oloo and James Ochieng on August 28, 1957 in the small town of Kaisii, Kenya. She later moved to Nairobi at 11 years old with her family. She was a bright and inquisitive child, with a love of climbing trees, eating fruit, and singing in her church choir. She loved to talk, and was very curious about the world around her. She was funny, often unintentionally, and a very sensitive person, which added to her caring nature. She took great pride in herself, especially her beautiful skin and teeth.
Pam moved to San Diego, CA to attend college at Alliant International University in 1976, where she graduated with a B.A. in Human Behavior in 1979. While in college she met and fell in love with Carlton Davis, who she met while he was attending SDSU’s Upward Bound Program in 1978. They married on December 15, 1979, and later had a daughter Brittany, born February 22, 1990. Pam was an extremely devoted mother, protective, nurturing and always seeing the best in Brittany. She and Carlton were married over 30 years, and stayed good friends after separating.
Pam had an almost 40 year career, 30 of which were at Cox Communications where she excelled at her position in Customer Service, and won numerous awards, and trained many new comers. She later worked for Atrium Workforce Solutions and United Health Group. Extremely hardworking and resourceful, she could find a solution for anything. She always made a positive impression on people, and was quick to make friends, all around the world. Her bright smile and warm nature attracted everyone around her. You could always count on Pam to lend a helping hand, whether it be a delicious dish of food for a get together, or sewing a baby blanket for the newest members of the family. Pam put family first, and loved to spend time with them. She was a loving sister and aunt, especially to her niece Orla, after her mother, Pam’s younger sister Fiona, passed away. Pam loved a good debate, and enjoyed hearing others perspective, even if she didn’t agree. She was a talented cook, and a very creative person.
Pam was proceeded in death by her mother and father, Carlton Davis, her sister Fiona, and many other family members. Pam was survived by her daughter Brittany, her sister Judy, niece Tanya, her sisters in law Alma (Derrick), Vicky, Cindy (Charles), Sylvia, Zandra, brothers in law Howard, Charles (Cindy), Sterling, her aunt Katie and her family, Her cousin Margaret and her children, her step brother Fred, many nieces and nephews, and lots of extended family.
