Patricia Ann Cox's Obituary
Our beloved mother, Patricia Ann Cox, passed away peacefully in her home on October 5th, 2017. She was the widow of Duane D. Cox. Mom and Dad met in 1953 at an AT&T picnic where mom was an Operator and Dad was an Engineer. Smitten from the start, they created a beautiful and adventurous life together and were married for 49 years.Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Patricia was the daughter of John and Aileen Haynes and big sis to Dolores, Mike and Jerry. She attended high school in both Missouri and in San Diego. Mom loved her job as an Operator at AT&T until 1957 when she was given the job she was created for- she became a mother. Always the quintessential mom, she loved her kids with all of her being. She was the mom others prayed to have and her children and grandchildren will miss her every day for the rest of their lives. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, joy, forgiveness, Faith and hope.Mom is survived by her children: Terry Cox, Thomas Cox (Janeht), Michael Cox (Holly), Ronnie Cox (Kim) and Susan Zbick (Joe). She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Erin, Tommy, Nicholas, Mike, Danny, Bryan, Brooke, Alex, Emily and Meghan.Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 13th, 2017 at Greenwood Memorial Park in the Salli Lynn Chapel at 4300 Imperial Ave in San Diego, CA. The viewing will take place from 10-11am and the service immediately after with interment to follow. A celebration of her life will be held at her home in La Mesa.In lieu of flowers, if you are lucky enough to still have your mama, please call her today and tell her how much she means to you. Tell her you love her and never miss an opportunity to see her and spend time with her. Our mom knew and felt our love every day and that brings us great comfort as we navigate a future without her.
