Patricia Cammett's Obituary
Patricia Ruth Cammett of San Diego, California died at the age of 92 on November 23, 2017 in San Diego.She was born October 1, 1925 in Fairmont, Minnesota, the daughter of Ray Sanborn and Hedwig Grewe Sanborn. She attended school in Minnesota and when the family moved to San Diego during WWII she joined the family in working in the restaurant business.In 1945 Pat was joined in marriage with Edward H. Cammett, a member of the Navy serving on the U.S.S. Ranger. When Ed left the service they bought their first restaurant, The Flamingo, in Chula Vista. They went on to spend fifty years in the restaurant field owning Major’s Coffee Shop among others in Pine Valley and other locations in the San Diego area. Pat was always proud of the work they did feeding hundreds of fire fighters daily meals during the many fires in the area. Traveling was something Pat enjoyed immensely and managed to get herself to most every corner of the world from Antarctica to Scandinavia and many visits with friends who lived in South Africa.Pat was predeceased by her husband Edward H. Cammett in 1991 and her only child Edward G. Cammett in 1976. Also predeceased by per parents, one brother Donald Sanborn and one sister, Grace Sanborn Lewis. She is survived by one sister Lee Butler of San Diego, Nephews Chris Drewery, Richard Drewery, and William Sanborn of San Diego. Nieces Judy(Mark) Peterson of Minnesota, Sandy St. John of Nevada and Sheila and Sandra Sanborn of California. Also many great and grand nephews and nieces including Bryan Drewery(Justine) of Seattle Washington.The family will have a service honoring Pat’s life at 10.00 a.m. on Monday, December 11th in the SalliLynn Chapel at Greenwood Memorial Park, 4300 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, CA. A Committal at the grave will follow the service in the Resthaven Section of Greenwood Memorial Park.
