At age 20, she married Jim Evans, and became a Navy wife. In 1961, she gave birth to her first son, Gregg, followed in 1964 by Scott. Over the next 3 decades, she lived in many exciting (and some not-so-exciting) duty stations, such as England and Hawaii. During this time, she also travelled to Hong Kong and Europe. But she and her growing family always ended up back in San Diego, which she considered to be her true home. After she and Jim divorced in 1993, Pat settled for good back in San Diego. She used her free time to travel the world, visiting Australia and Ireland, and taking many trips to interesting places here in the United States with her favorite travelling companion, her sister Barbara.Pat was an enthusiastic 2 step dancer, often spending her winters in Yuma, Arizona to join the snowbirds there. She gladly spent her days and nights dancing and socializing with friends. She was also an avid crafter, being skilled in all manner of needlework such as sewing, knitting, needlepoint and crochet. Her creations were featured at the Del Mar Fair on several occasions. She was preceded in death by her parents Wally and Marie, and her son Gregg.Pat is survived by her son Scott, daughter-in-law Rita, granddaughters Juliana and Sophia, and sister Barbara.A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018, at 11:00am at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, CA. She went out lived life to the fullest. Her adventures were the subject of many lively discussions with family and friends. She was loved dearly, and will be missed by her family and friends
