Patricia Ann Purdy's Obituary
Patricia A. Purdy loved her animals, grandchildren, children and probably in that order. Of course, her family and friends meant a lot to her.
She struggled with COPD and was on continuous oxygen. In spite of her ailments, she enjoyed working on her crossword puzzles, crunching numbers and watching game shows, calling out the answers to questions. She passed away quietly the morning of 08/23/22.
We believe she is most likely arguing with our dad with a glass of wine in her hand
On 09/15/1936, she was the firstborn to George and Lillie Lear. She had two younger brothers George Jr, and Paul who have since passed. Her family is all together now.
She began working in her early teens at her father’s bar. She learned good work ethics and most likely helped her father throw drunks out of the bar.
Her delicate handling of people continued into her adult life. She spent 40 years in nursing caring and running Skilled Nursing Faculties for geriatric patients.
On the lighter side, if there were issues with someone, she had no reservation letting them know how she felt, and by golly you better get squared away.
She was very active in life, camping, boating, traveling, shooting guns, horseback riding, driving classic cars, raising Cats, Dogs horses, Guinea pigs, Birds and not afraid to try new adventures.
With her love of animals, in lieu of flowers or cards, she would like donations of old towels to your local animal shelter or adopt and care for an animal. If you are inclined to donate, please give and visit https://dottieysbarnyard.org
