Patricia Anne Root's Obituary
Patricia Anne Root was born on November 20, 1938. She passed away on December 14, 2021. She was the daughter of Robert A. Knapp and Maxine (Mitchell) Knapp of Lemon Grove. She grew up in Lemon Grove and attended Helix High School, graduating in 1956. She met Raymond Root on a blind date in 1957 and were married on July 15, 1958. The young couple moved to Cape Cod where Raymond was stationed in the Air Force. A year later they were blessed with a son, Terry. After Cape Cod, they moved to Roswell, NM, for a time and then relocated back to the San Diego area, where they had their daughter, Lisa. They purchased a home in Santee and lived there for 31 yrs.
Pat was the consummate stay-at-home mom, a June Cleaver of sorts. Clothes were always clean, meals made, children’s school needs attended to, & homework done. A room mom, den leader, Sunday school teacher, good neighbor, and all around ‘volunteer’ for anything needed – Pat was ready for it all and always with a smile.
For the last 27 years, Pat and Ray have called Lakeside their home. She enjoyed landscaping and perfecting their property to be a haven of rest and beauty. Pat always enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grands, taking delight in everything they did and/or said.
Pat is survived by her husband of 63 years, Raymond;
her children, Terry (Linda) Root of Lake Orion, Michigan; Lisa of Santee, CA;
her grandchildren, Steven (Jennifer) of Oxford, MI; Christopher of Lake Orion, MI; Jonathan (Mary) of Oxford, MI; and Anna of Waterford, MI.
her great-grandchildren: Nadia, Nathan, Daniel, James, Caleb, and Micah of Oxford, MI.
and her brother Robert Michael Knapp of Alpine CA;
