Paul Joseph Becerra was born on March 2nd1986 in San Diego California. He passed on September
17th,2024 at 5:02 p.m. in Encinitas California at Scripps Memorial Hospital from complications
related to End Stage Renal Failure. He was surrounded by his family, and many lifelong friends.
Paul is survived by his life partner Miriam De La Cruz, parents Paula Jo Becerra and Rodolfo
Hernandez Becerra, his siblings Jose Luis (Patricia)Becerra, Tanya Becerra, Brenda BecerraAndrews (Wes), Rodolfo Becerra Jr (Candice), nieces Esarah, Diana, nephews Alex, Eric, Jose Luis
Jr. and Adrian, as well as many Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, and Paul’s second girl “Nala” who he
loved so dearly.
Paul was preceded in death by brother Eduardo Becerra, grandparents Jack and Bernice Broward,
grandparents Pedro and Aurora Becerra, Tia Enedina Herrera, uncles Patrick Broward and Michael
Broward.
He was a loving son, partner, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. Being a part of a largerthan-life family was so important to him, and when together brought him great joy. Family Rohr Park
days was what he looked forward to most aside from camping in the great outdoors. Waking up
early to save the family spot under the tree, being completely content with being the younger cousin
that is charged with making sure the family spot is secure. He never wavered, never complained
and did everything he could in his way to make sure each and every one of his family knew they
mattered.
Paul was a person who walked to the beat of a different drum. He did everything his own way at his
own pace, sometimes against the grain. Paul had many qualities that may have not been realized,
He was independent in his thinking, a listener, a confidante, motivating, inspiring and the type of
person that would give you his last dollar or jacket if it was needed.
He was a protecter of his family and friends. Paul was 5’6, but on occasion you’d think he was 7 feet
tall. Paul was ambitious. He held his first job at the young age of 15. Despite his health challenges
he always had a job whether in service industry or behind a desk always pushing on. Most of all he
was an artist at heart, it was his passion and third love behind Miriam and Nala, Maybe!!.
He had compassion for others, but had conviction when it came to things he believed in. Paul was
spiritual, he believed in God and found his strength from exploring his spirituality his own way, in
relation to his life and the challenges he faced. He never wavered in the face of the challenges of
life, he took them on as a badge of honor.
Paul never gave up and always had a fighting spirit, even on his off days he would never fail to show
his strength and ask you how your day went. He was and will always be an inspiration in the eyes of
many. His memory and soul will live on through his art on the walls from San Diego to Venice beach,
on the canvas that he so passionately created his artwork on and the vinyl that his tracks where laid
on. Paul’s legacy will live on forever through his art, through his music and through the love that he
shared with his family, his friends and all that shared a special bond with him throughout his life.
Rest In Paradise Paul,
We love you and you will forever be remembered
