Paul C. Prather's Obituary
Paul Curtis Prather passed away in La Jolla, CA on July 5, 2021 at the age of 69. He was born on September 18, 1951, in San Diego, California, to Margaret Grace Sterling and Hubert Sidney Scott-Prather. He grew up in El Cajon and graduated in 1970 from El Cajon Valley High School.
Paul was a roofer, a pyro technician, and a great family man. Although he didn’t talk much about it, he served his country, with pride, during the Vietnam War. He volunteered to enlist and served two tours of combat duty even though he would not have been selected via the draft. He was a proud member of the Army. He liked to BBQ and bring everyone together with food. He was loved by many and considered a fatherly figure to a lot that knew him, always willing to give advice or an opinion.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister Yvonne Donaldson, his niece Ronna Kay, nephew Johnny, and great nephew Blake.
Paul leaves behind his loving wife Amber Wallace, his brother Terry Prather, his niece Brandy Smallwood (Ken), his children Eric Prather (Kristy), Jessica Murguia (Matt), Zechariah Prather (Renee), Andrew Prather (Taylor), Michael Wallace (Sheri), Alana Smith (Howard), Jacob Prather, 13 grandchildren, and many in-laws, cousins and a host of friends to mourn his passing.
