Paul "Anthony" Todd's Obituary

BoswellOur dearly beloved Paul Anthony Todd, affectionately known as Anthony was the sixth of nine children born to Elder Amos and Eva Jo Todd on February 26, 1949 in Merced, California. The family lived on a farm in Dos Palos, California until April 1957 at which time they moved to San Diego, CA.Anthony received his formal education at Valencia Park Elementary, O’Farrell Jr. High and Luicoln High School where he excelled academically. HE was an All-Star Track and Field member and received many awards. He also found a love for woodwork and cabinetry during his time at Lincoln High School. He graduated in 1967. After graduating, Anthony enlisted in the United States Air Force in May of 1968, where he served his country proudly. HE was a Vietnam Veteran and was Honorably Discharged in 1972. HE continued to serve his country for over two years in the United States Air Force Reserves.During his time in the military, Anthony and his childhood sweetheart, Deborah Jefferson were blessed with a daughter, Michelle Todd and a son, Paul Anthony Todd Jr., also known as Mario.Upon his discharge, he Anthony briefly worked at Ryan Aeronautical in San Diego. Looking for better opportunities and seeking his dream, he decided to enter into his own business and continue his love of woodwork and cabinetry. He opened his own business, Ocean View Cabinet Shop, which he successfully owned and operated for over forty years.Anthony loved challenges and would not be satisfied until the project was complete to his satisfaction whether it be woodwork, carpentry or plumbing. He could always count on his son, Mario to assist him with his special projects.Anthony was known as “Mayor” of his street, Los Angeles Place in Valencia Park. He had a very loving, kindhearted and generous nature. His generosity was felt was felt by many family members and friends. On special occasions, he’d drive around and hand out roses especially on Mother’s Day. He loved to entertain and host events where he would provide his home made specialties, especially his signature chili, gumbo and barbeque. He loved playing cards, dominoes, bingo and hosting professional sporting events. He was also known for his sharp attire, love of hats and fine cars. Those who knew and loved him will always remember his parting salutation, “I’m Just Sayin!”On Sunday, May 13, 2018 (Mother’s Day), at 2:12pm, God called Anthony to his heavenly home, where he reunited with his parents, Elder Amos & Eva Jo Todd and his brother, David Gary Todd, all of San Diego, CA. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Michelle Todd, son, Paul (Mario) Todd Jr., grandchildren, Ronnie Williams, Donovan Coleman, Kamari Todd; great grandson, Raheem Williams. His siblings, Virgie Todd-Johnson, Dorcas JoAnn Johnson (Oscar), Larry W. Todd (Karen), Priscilla L. Todd, Amos Todd III, Darlene Todd-McClaron, John F. Todd (Paula), all of San Diego,CA, thirty nieces and nephews, forty great nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and nephews and host of family members and friends.The family of Paul Anthony Todd would like to acknowledge his loving, caring Angel on Earth, Leslie Ledet for the love and support she gave to him and for always being by his side.
