Pele Jack Aimalefoa's Obituary
Pele “Jack” Aimalefoa, 63, of San Diego, passed away on April 25 surrounded by his loving family and the love of his family praying for him far away. It is hard to convey in words how much joy and exuberance Jack brought with him when he entered a room. The impact he had on his loved ones, friends, coworkers, and clients is not easy to put into words, but here goes…
Jack was born July 1,1959 to parents Aimalefoa Maiava and Tumua Aimalefoa in San Diego. He grew up in Imperial Beach. After graduating Mar Vista High School, he moved to American Samoa with his family for four years before returning to San Diego where he joined the US Navy. He then returned to San Diego where he met his wife, Julie at a softball game arranged by his sister. Jack and Julie got married on July 8, 1989. The two had three children, Caitlin, Ryan and Kenneth, who he loved unconditionally.
Jack had a passion for sports. He played baseball and softball for many years from his youth to an adult. He loved and supported his hometown teams, the Chargers, and the Padres (Madres when they were losing!) He supported his children’s high school sports: softball, volleyball, basketball and football. For many years he coached Caitlin and nieces Brittany and Kourtney in softball. He enjoyed watching and “coaching” from the sidelines his many nephews and nieces, great-nieces and nephews and the great-greats’ sports games. He was always their biggest fan, and his guidance, cheers and support will be so missed!
Jack was a loyal employee at Deliver-It for many years where he was well liked and respected by all. He always had a huge smile and his kindness and generosity extended to all. He had many customers that loved him and will miss that big HELLO and his smile.
Jack loved music-he had a great voice- his favorites were the songs he grew up on, but he could rock about any song or genre while often changing the lyrics to suit him. The babies will miss his sweet lullaby’s and we will all miss the joy he brought to us with his beautiful voice.
Jack is predeceased by his mother, Tumua Aimalefoa and father Aimalefoa Maiava and sister Fa’apopo Aimalefoa. He is survived by his wife, Julie, children, Caitlin (Mikey), Ryan and Kenny and his adored grandson, Maiava. (his little bear). He is also survived by his sisters Evotia (Pula), Nerisa (Nofo) and Gail (Sene) and his brother Matt (Susan). He is survived by all his so loved nieces, nephews, their children, and their children.
Although we are heartbroken from his loss, we are comforted in knowing he is resting in peace and reunited with his loved ones who passed before him.
We will always carry you in our hearts through the memories we share, never forgotten, until we meet again.
