Bill Glover
Phil and I, Bill Glover, a retired Marine Sergeant Major, shared many days, weekends and evenings together, as I was being trained to understand the Life Insurance business, with Surety Life Insurance. Phil was a frequent visitor to our Montford Point Marine Association Club, located at 3030 Imperial Ave, where we shared a few drinks together. We referred to each others as brothers.
I was privileged and honored to be a guest at his and Joanne's wedding. Even after I left the Insurance business, Phil and I kept in touch, but as time went by we drifted apart. God blessed me with the opportunity to speak with him weeks before he was called home.
My wife Ida and I extend to the family our deepest condolence to Joanne and the family on the loss of a man we both loved, Philip Widener.
