This led her to be the strong and disciplined woman we all grew up to know and love. Pilar was not able to attain a higher education due to World War II, yet this did not prevent her prosperous outcome. Under the given circumstances, she had a loving and supportive husband and eight children where they worked together to gain a better life.In 1992, she followed her husband from the Philippines to the United States to find better opportunities for her family. In the coming years, her children also immigrated to the United States to be reunited with their beloved mother.Pilar left her family with unforgettable memories that will last eternally. Her children blessed her with many grandchildren and she couldn’t be more elated. Pilar instilled many important morals in her family such as stressing the importance of education and staying humble. She passed on many of her life tips to ensure her family was successful in their lives. Pilar was also known for her amazing food. She made the best sinigang that everyone always craved. Thankfully, she passed on many of her recipes to her kids to ensure her legacy would last forever.Pilar will be remembered sitting in a reclining chair with a peanut butter sandwich and a steaming cup of coffee on her side. She will be remembered for her joyful smile that lit up the room whenever she entered. But, most importantly she will be remembered for being the structure and glue that held the Guaro family together. Her unconditional love will forever live in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of meeting her.Pilar stood her ground despite being faced with many setbacks. She endured many illnesses during her lifetime and each time she did not fail to intimidate death. When burdened with dementia, she fought to remember her family and life. When diagnosed with dysphagia, she fought to make sure she had enough strength to keep nourished. It was not until January 3, 2019 that she experienced complications with her surgery and lost her battle. While her family misses her immensely, they take comfort in knowing she is now with the Lord in Heaven to rest in peace.
