Publio S Deligencia's Obituary
Publio Deligencia, (87), of San Diego, California passed away on December 24th, 2022. Born in the Camarines Sur province of Bicol region of the Philippines in 1935, Publio is survived by his wife Lucille (nee Marcelino) and two children, Michelle and Nick as well as their spouses, David and Nancy.
Publio served twenty-one years in the U.S. Navy, then worked for over twenty years for the San Diego Community College District. He loved fishing, sailing, and kayaking- anything to be out on the water. Cooking and doting on pets were his hobbies, but more than anything he enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and with his many friends. Publio made friends wherever he went, whether it was shopping at the swap meet or ordering at his local Chipotle. In fact, some may have mistaken him for a tour guide, leading groups of friends on his fleet of bicycles through Mission Bay and downtown San Diego. He had an explorer’s spirit that made even running small errands seem like opportunities for grand adventures.
A viewing will be held in the Garden Chapel at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary on Friday January 13th, 2023 from 4:00- 8:00 pm. Funeral services will follow the next day on Saturday, January 14th, 2023 at 2:00 pm, also in the Garden Chapel at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary.
