Queen Pugh's Obituary
Queen, the beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend was born to the late Augusta Gary on February 15, 1941 in Russell County Alabama. Queen was preceded in death by her brothers Jimmie Lee Gary and Robert L Gary.She married her high school sweetheart David Leroy Pugh on December 29,1960 and together they embarked on their lifetime journey. From this union they have four children: Linda F. Green, David L. Pugh Jr., Gary Bernard Pugh – San Diego, CA and Brenda K. Axel (Kelvin) – Oceanside, CA. Their blessing continued with five grandchildren: Trina E. Pugh, Franklin Green (Christy), Garik C. Pugh, Alexis Robey, – San Diego and Avery J. Green – Houston Tx. She is also survived by two great-children, Skylanae F. Brown and Anthony Robey-Ryder- San Diego. Queen obtained her Associates of Arts Degree from San Diego Community College in Early Childhood Education. She spent over forty years providing guidance to countless young children working at Gingerbread Nursery centers and Neighborhood House Association (NHA). She retired from NHA in June of this year with over 20 years of service to the organization.In addition to caring for young children, Queen was an avid bowler. She was a board member of the San Diego Women’s International Bowling Congress and a member of The National Bowling Association (TNBA), San Diego Bowling club and San Diego Rebels club. She influenced generations of young minds, share smiles with her bowling friends and loved her entire family, near and far. She will be greatly missed but will always be in our hearts.
