Ramona Edwina Vigil's Obituary
Ramona Vigil aged 87, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025 at Bonitaview Hospice Home surrounded by family members. She was born on December 9, 1937 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Antonio and Flora Rivera. She was a proud resident of San Diego, California for 65 years. She was a devout Catholic and was as faithful as one could be every day of her life. She married Alfonso Vigil on December 21, 1955 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She worked in retail and was the mother of 4 children. Ramona was very outgoing and loved going to sporting events and hosting holiday festivities. She was a “giver” her entire life and was always looking out for others to ensure that nobody was left out during festive times and activities. Her haven was church as a member of the parish at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for more than 50 years. Her family and faith were her two biggest passions. Ramona always had the ability to make anyone smile. She was preceded in passing by her husband (Alfonso Vigil) of 65 years and is survived by her 4 children (Dickie Vigil, Olga Ontiveros, Wally Vigil, and Christopher Vigil); 3 sisters Patsy Roybal, Gloria Apodaca, Marilyn Rivera and brother Ray Rivera. She has 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family, friends, and others are invited to the Greenwood Memorial Park located at 4300 Imperial Avenue – San Diego, CA. 92113 to reminisce and honor the life of Ramona.
