Raul T Montano's Obituary
Raul T. Montaño, 85 of San Diego, California passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018. A mass will be held Friday, December 14th at 10am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 2643 Homedale Ave, San Diego, CA 92139.Raul, affectionately known as R.T.,was born April 22, 1933, in Reddington, AZ, to Francisco and Carmen Montaño. On July 4, 1953, he married the love of his life, Evelyn P. Montaño in Tucson, AZ. In 1959 he moved his family to San Diego and worked various jobs, eventually working for Bill Pender where he became a Mason. This opportunity led him to get his Masonry Contractors License in 1966. Raul was well respected in the industry and built many Pizza Hut, Jack in the Box, and Dairy Queens. Also, he worked on many government projects in addition to helping build the Paradise Hills Library early in his career. .Raul was an avid reader of which history was his favorite subject. He loved spending time with family and friends and taking trips cross-country. Anyone that knew him well knew that singing and playing his guitar was his passion.Raul is survived by 4 sons, Raul Jr., Frank, Lionel and Patrick, 3 daughters, Marie, Yvonne and Yolanda, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, his sister Grace Espinoza, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, his grandsons Isaac and Charlie, his parents Francisco and Carmen Montaño, and his sisters Herminia Montaño Perales and Carmen Bejarano.
