Raymond Anthony Carlos, Jr.'s Obituary
Raymond Anthony Carlos Jr. was born at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, CA. on Thursday October 4, 1973. He was the first child of Raymond Anthony Carlos Sr. and Josephine Carlos. He grew up in Riverside, CA where he lived most of his life. Raymond or “Little Ray” attended Longfellow Elementary School, St. Francis De Sales Catholic school and Arlington High School. While in high school, Raymond joined the Air Force Jr. ROTC and he was a Riverside Police Explorer. In high school and in Police Explorers, he met life long friends Marnie, Angie, Gary, Becky and Gail. After graduation he would begin working in security where he spent most of his career before retiring in 2013 due to health issues. Raymond’s daughter Faith Josephine Carlos was born on July 31, 2008. This was a day that would be the best day of his life. Even before she was born Ray would excitedly tell everyone he knew about the birth of his soon to be daughter. Soon after Faith was born Brianna would join his family and become his second daughter. Later in life Raymond fell into ill health which limited his ability to do many things. Despite his health issues he still enjoyed taking his daughters to church, flying remote control helicopters, going to Sea World with his family, shooting BB guns and watching Dodger baseball. His friends and family would describe him as a loving, fantastic, caring, humorous, and a bit of a stubborn man.Forever trapped in the 80’s, he continuously listened to bands like Air Supply, Guns ‘n Roses, U2 and Depeche Mode. As a kid he would often make tapes of his favorite songs off the radio and blast them throughout the house to the annoyance of his brothers. Raymond chose to keep a few close friends and spend time with his family. In 2015 after the passing of his father, Raymond moved down to San Diego with his mother who helped him with his illnesses for what would be the remainder of his life. During his time in San Diego Raymond made a new friend Glenn who he spoke highly of and had made plans on splitting an apartment once Raymond’s health improved enough for him to live on his own. On Tuesday May 21 Raymond passed away and went on to rejoin his father Raymond Carlos Sr. and grandmother Teresa Mendoza both people he loved and missed dearly. Before his passing Raymond helped to pay for the placement of his grandmother’s ashes according to her wishes. Raymond Carlos Jr. is survived by his daughters: Faith Josephine Carlos, and Brianna Hope Carlos. His mother Josephine Carlos. His brothers: David Anthony Carlos and Jess Anthony Carlos. His Sister: Terrie Christina Vander Sluis and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Although Raymond left us too early, his family takes comfort in knowing that Raymond will be re-joining people he knew and loved. Raymond, even though you are gone you, you will never be forgotten.
