Raymond King’s Obituary Raymond Elmer King, 82, of Lakeside, CA. passed away peacefully at home after a valient fight with cancer on January 24, 2016 with his loved ones by his side. Ray was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 5, 1933, fifth of six children to Alfreda & Alonzo King. He grew up in a loving family with 3 brothers and 2 sisters. (Loni, Mary, David, Lyle and Lea) After graduating high school he was drafted into the army and was on the ship to Korea when the Armistice was signed . After Ray’s military duty he returned home, met and married Elaine Manning while attending classes at Weber State College. They recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary, shortly before Ray lost his cherished wife in Oct. of last year. Together they raised 3 daughters in the El Cajon/Lakeside, CA area. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on January 29, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Granite Hills Ward 1701 Granite Hills Dr. El Cajon, CA 92019. A military flag ceremony burial will follow the services at Greenwood Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Greenwood Memorial Park Mortuary in San Diego. Ray was a first-rate husband, father, grandfather and friend, always making those around him feel truly loved and included. He will be truly missed. He is survived by his, 3 daughters – Cindy Stempien, Susan King & Kellie (Rich) Schatz, 8 grandchildren – Nicole, Ryan, Brian, Richie, Chris, Sean, Casey, Tiffany and 6 great grandchildren, sisters Mary Harker and Lea Hoyt and brother David King.
