Raymond Clifford Slater's Obituary
Raymond Clifford Slater
December 4, 1936 – 10 February, 2021
San Diego, California
Passed away peacefully at Sharps Grossmont Hospital. Ray was born in San Diego where he lived for most of his life. He was an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserves serving on the U.S.S. Oriskany and retired with honor. Ray also worked for the El Cajon Valley School district for over three decades as both a teacher and a Resource Specialist, a job he loved up until his retirement in 1995. In August 1964, he married Roberta and became not only a husband, but also a father to her two sons, James Steven and David Wayne McElfresh. Ray enjoyed recounting stories of the children he taught at school, his family and playing cards. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
