Rena Elizabeth LaBorde's Obituary
A 3rd generation San Diegan who has been a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother . She lived in the same house for 97 years until she was unable to to remain there and moved in with her daughter. She graduated from San Diego High school in 1937 and attended kelseyJenny business school, then worked for the Department if agriculture. Married Johnny LaBorde during WW11. They had 2 children, Barbara schoenberger and John LaBorde. She has always been a credit to her community and involved in volunteering at the History center after retiring from Title insurance as an escrow officer. She also drove recovering soldiers around for the Red Cross when she learned to drive. She has been a tower of strength ,a positive example to her family . She was involved in a sorority for more than 75 years, was an avid Gardner, enjoyed water aerobics at the Y, square dancing, a voracious reader, hiking and sailing. She gave much of herself to her family and set a high moral standard. She leaves behind two children, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren to whom she was devoted. She had a zest for life that couldn’t be matched. We will all miss her indomitable spirit that will always reside within us all.
