Rhonald Frederick Scruggs' Obituary
Rhonald Fredrick Scruggs, age 79, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Ron was born March 8,1943 in Atoka, Oklahoma. His family moved to San Diego, California, when he was three years old and resided ever since.
Ron was preceded in death by his father Fred, mother Anna, step father James (Pop), brother John, sister-in-law Barbara and his son Ronnie.
He is survived by his wife Susie, daughter Tiffany, his sons Robert and Richard, daughter-in-law Denise, grandson Patrick, granddaughter Noelle and husband Aj, and great grandson Aiden..his sister Margie, nephews, nieces and their families and loving friends.
He met Susie 57 years ago, at the age of twenty one and after three months, they married and raised four children.
At the age of 18, Ron enlisted in the Army and was deployed to Germany for three years. Ron was honored to served his country
Ron was a member of Local 12, Operating Engineers for more than 50 years. He worked and retired as a heavy equipment operator and business agent.
We will miss Ron, (Pop, Dad, Dada) immensely, but remember his smile, kindest giving heart, fishing stories and adventures.
Ron had a passion for the outdoors from rebuilding cars, to deep sea fishing and 'the river'. His greatest passion was the smell of the toolies while fishing for bluegill and that giant flathead catfish.
Memorial service and celebration will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Greenwood Memorial, Mortuary Cemetery at 1 o'clock p.m.
