Richard Gonzalez's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Richard Gonzalez
October 8, 1978 – May 29, 2026
On Friday, May 29, 2026, Richard Gonzalez passed away at the age of 47, leaving behind a family and community that loved him deeply. While his passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew him, his memory will live on through the countless stories, laughs, lessons, and moments he shared with those around him.
Richard was first and foremost a devoted father. His children were his greatest pride and the most important part of his life. He worked hard to provide for them, support them, and be someone they could always count on. He shared a special bond with his daughter, who held a unique place in his heart, and nothing made him happier than seeing his children succeed, smile, and grow. Everything he did was driven by the love he had for his family.
He was also a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, partner, and friend. Richard cared deeply about his family and carried a great deal of love and respect for his parents throughout his life. He took pride in the man he became and worked hard every day, always wanting to make his family proud.
A talented cement mason, Richard took pride in his work and the reputation he built through years of dedication and hard work. He wasn’t afraid of long days, tough jobs, or getting his hands dirty. If someone needed help, he was often one of the first people to show up. He believed in working hard, keeping his word, and taking care of the people around him.
Anyone who knew Richard knew he had a great sense of humor. He loved cracking jokes, talking a little smack, telling stories, and finding ways to make people laugh. Even when life got difficult, he could usually find a way to lighten the mood. His laugh was truly one of a kind—loud, genuine, and contagious—and it had a way of making everyone around him smile. His quick wit, infectious laughter, and ability to make ordinary moments memorable are things that will be missed by so many.
Richard had a love for music that followed him everywhere. Whether he was driving his truck, working, or spending time with family and friends, there was usually music playing. His taste ranged from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Spice 1 to Fleetwood Mac, Smashing Pumpkins, and everything in between. For many, some of those songs will forever bring back memories of Richard riding down the road, windows down, enjoying life.
He also enjoyed the simple things. He loved fishing, spending time around his trucks, and getting together with friends and family. Some of his happiest moments were sitting around with the people he cared about most, sharing stories, laughing, listening to music, and enjoying each other’s company. Whether it was a backyard gathering, a day on the water, or simply spending time with those he loved, Richard appreciated the moments that brought people together. Those moments may have seemed ordinary at the time, but they became the memories that will now be treasured forever.
More than anything, Richard will be remembered for the way he showed up for people. He was loyal, hardworking, generous, and genuine. He loved deeply, cared fiercely about those close to him, and leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the time we had with him and the memories he gave us. We take comfort in knowing that a part of him will always live on through his children, his family, his friends, the stories we share, and the lives he touched along the way.
Richard will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
