Richard was first my co-worker's husband, then my landlord, and then my friend. I always remember him as a manly man; a person who worked really hard and could get any job done. He was filled with knowledge that he shared with me and always had good stories. I would see him often bring lunch to his wife during work and I remember thinking on many occasions that he has set such a high bar as to what a great husband should be. Plus he was a great cook! Richard is truly missed.
I have been Richards neighbor for 19 years. When we first met, he welcomed me to the neighborhood, and in his mannerly way, shed some thoughtful light on the house I bought and the neighborhood, and let me know, that he was always there as a friend and neighbor! I was always happy to see him and acknowledge his presence with a friendly "Hey" and that bond between us as homeowners, buddies and friends, always existed, and we knew the other was, "just across the street"! We helped each other on many home projects and he was always my first "go to" guy, for advice and information! I truly miss him, knowing I won't see him, when exiting or entering my place, but I still look his direction anyhow, as Rich's spirit lives on… My Love goes to his family at their loss! Love Jerry!

I worked at SANYO Energy for 16 years. Richard was that strong male presence that was always there when I needed him. He helped me learn to ride a forklift. He saved me from various rattlesnakes who came to our buildings in Otay Mesa looking for water. He even gave me that old beat up orange dolly to take home with me after the company moved to Dallas.
