Rita Roberson's Obituary
Rita Marie Roberson was born in Caldwell, Idaho to Orval and Idalene (deceased) Roberson. She grew up on their family ranch, surrounded by her younger brothers and sister. Though she lived her whole life with Cerebral Palsy, Rita loved God, life and others. She was always ready for adventures and had plenty of stories to tell. She handled them all, people and adventures, with patience and a sense of humor. She later became certified as an Assistive Technology Consultant.Rita lived in San Diego for 35 years surrounded by her Christian family at the La Mesa Church of Christ and a host of friends. She was an active member of her church taking part in prayer groups, Bible studies, children’s ministry and outreach to people with disabilities. She was a volunteer teacher’s assistant for the GS 420: “Disability and Society “class at San Diego State University from about 1998 until the fall of 2014, when a second bout with cancer forced her to stop. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, hope and love.Rita is survived by her father, Orval Roberson, brother Rick (Dian) Roberson, sister Reola (Scott) Strother, brother Wayne (Maisie) Roberson, sister-in-law Roxanne (brother Erin, deceased) Roberson, numerous other relatives and many dear friends.
