Robert L. Curington, affectionately known by his close friends as “Payong”, was born in Georgia. He served the U.S. Navy and retired with rank of MMC Chief Petty Officer (National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal [Bronze Star], Six Good Conduct Awards, and a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon).He is survived by his two children, Shannon and David.The family is not having a public memorial service.
