Robert Lee Edwards' Obituary
Robert Lee Edwards was born in Bessemer, Alabama to Aaron and Florence Edwards, who preceded him in death. He is the youngest of three children: Aaron and Rosa, who also preceded him in death.
He graduated from Sweetwater High School in San Diego, CA and continued further education at Southwestern College and San Diego State University.
He served in the Army during the Korean War and in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from North Island Naval Station. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where he served on the Trustee Board, Choir, and Chairman of Commission on Education.
Robert was blessed with a loving family, to include his wife, Dorothy. From this union came four wonderful sons: Michael (Jacinta), Robert, Eric, and Paul (Josefina), five grandchildren: Jasmine Edwards, Breanna Schaffer, Robert Jerome Edwards, Vanessa Edwards, and Crystal Townsend. Robert also had six great-grandchildren and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.
